WELCOME TO MY PARTY!
(where 40 is the new fun!)
Dear All!
I’m turning 40 on August the 30th —so naturally, we’re heading to the sea, the rocks, and a fortress.
Come for the ocean air, the wine, the odd crab, the dancing on cobblestones, the unexpected dips and glamour by the sea.
Expect good food, music, and a magical evening in unforgettable surroundings. All details are on the site—just suit up for summer and bring your party spirit!
Can’t wait to see you & celebrate together!
Much Love, Ida
ABOUT THE DAY..
We’ll gather at 15:00 on the 30th of August (my actual Birthday, yay!) outside of Strandverket (57°52'59.1"N 11°35'07.4"E ) for an afternoon of salty air, easy fun, and ocean-inspired activities.
Think: sailing, crab fishing, maybe a mischievous game or two and some Aprés sail.
Come dressed in comfortable clothes you don’t mind moving (or getting a little wet) in. If check-in to your accommodation isn't possible beforehand or if you’re staying in Gothenburg, you can safely leave your things at Strandverket.
At 16:30, we’ll break for a pause. You’ll have two hours to go for a swim, change into your evening look, or explore the island.
At 18:30, the evening continues with a seated dinner in the rustic fortress Strandverket by the sea.

A few Words About Marstrand
(For those who have not been there
Marstrand is more than just a postcard-perfect island—it’s a place full of quirky charm and rich history.
Marstrand’s golden era began in the late 19th century, when King Oscar II made the island his summer escape. With the king came poets, opera singers, painters, aristocrats, and scandal in silk. Suddenly, Marstrand wasn’t just a fishing village—it was the place to be seen. Såsen, the (Society House), built in 1887, became the island’s glittering heart, hosting grand dinners, concerts, and whispered affairs behind folding fans. Today, it still stands as a beautiful reminder of that glamorous, slightly unhinged chapter of Swedish seaside history. Today they have a great bar and a fabulous restaurant.
The Carlsten Fortress on top of the hill dates back to the 1600s and once held Sweden’s most infamous criminal-turned-celebrity, Lasse-Maja, who served time here—partially dressed as a woman and who was pardoned by the King.
Marstrand has long been a summer society hotspot—with nude bathing, café culture, and scandalous stories to match.
Be sure to stop by Café Bergs for a coffee and a pastry—it’s a local must.
Wander the winding paths, feel the salt wind, and if you're brave—take a dip where the sea meets stone.
Swedish west coast fish is a must try delicacy which you can enjoy all over the island. Some great seafood inspired restaurants are Johan’s Krog, Tenan (grand hotel) & Societetshuset (Såsen, The Society House). For Bar hoping or seaside cocktails, Wärds, Mamas, Gran(d) Barnen and Johan’s Krog are all worth a pint or hot shot.
And of course—the sailing. Marstrand isn’t Marstrand without sails on the horizon. This island has been a sailing mecca for centuries, drawing everyone from royals to rogues to regattas. Whether you’ve raced across the Skagerrak, are on the world tour or just like the idea of sipping wine on a boat, the salty wind and white sails are part of the magic. So don’t be surprised if a boat or two joins the party—or if you find yourself hoisting a sail with a cocktail in hand.
In other words, can’t wait to raise a glass with you there!
XX, Ida
